As you may have guessed from header, I'm Tom Johnson.
I spend most of my time designing and illustrating buildings. However I also have a great passion for things that move, and especially things that fly. This site presents some of the non-architectural designs and concepts I've created over the years.
It's difficult to nail down a specific philosophy that I follow, however there are a core values that I apply across all my work.
The first, and most important, is a research-heavy approach. In order to produce genuinely substantive design work, I believe you have to completely immerse yourself in the subject matter.
Other key values I apply are the importance of multi-functional components, and carefully-refined aesthetics. I'm also fascinated by squeezing maximum useability out of small or restricted spaces.
